Fund Raising Effort To Rescue Five Kittens and ‘TNR’ Their Feral Mother and Father
Hi everyone. We are currently raising rescue funds to facilitate both the rescue of these five kittens and the veterinary needs of their Father ‘GW’ and mother ‘Elvis’. In addition to de-worming treatments, rabies and distemper vaccinations these little (and big) guys also need to be tested for FIV/FeLV before they can be displayed on petfinder.com due to reasonable petfinder rules and restrictions and of course the babies and their parents also need to be spayed and neutered as soon as possible. If you can help us – Thank you!
Our Goal is $123 per cat/kitten or $861 total for all. We have raised $585.50 as of 8/7/2011. Please help if you can! Using low cost spay neuter ($50) and taking advantage of special prices for the rescue animals available from our veterinary doctor we can Deworm, vaccinate for Rabies and Distemper and also test for FELV, FIV and Heartworm all for about $73 each. Add to that low cost spay/neuter at $50 each not including the extra $10 for a pain relief shot after the surgery. $123.00 is the bare minimum needed to rescue each animal not including the above mentioned pain shot for post surgery comfort or any food, litter, bedding costs*. This group has a great head start as we’ve raised $585.50 so far and need only $276.50 more to finish prepping the five kittens for adoption and their two parents for a long healthy life as a spayed/neutered members of our 32 (plus) animal feral cat colony here.
PLEASE NOTE: Any funds raised in excess of our goal for this particular rescue will be used to feed, vaccinate and rescue additional feral cats and kittens in our area.

GW, Elvis and the Band of 5
This group was raised in the bush just outside my window by one of the females I failed to catch and spay last year. We are currently raising monies to vet all five kittens and to spay and vaccinate their father ‘GW’ and mother ‘Elvis’.
Once these little guys are vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/FeLV they will be posted to Petfinder.com and we will hope they find their new forever homes very soon afterward!
Of course I will be happy to place them into a good home before this but we do require at a minimum the 1st series of vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting please email us ASAP through our contact us page – thanks!

‘Panda-Mittens’ the Orphan: A Strong Desire To Live!
After watching another mother and her cubs for several weeks and waiting until the cubs were old enough to capture, vet and then home I suddenly noticed a new little one following the other kittens everywhere. It was obvious that this one was much smaller and younger – too young to not be with its own mother. Of course I assumed that ‘Elvis’ had adopted the kitten or at least I posit that the kitten was abandoned or otherwise separated from its own mother and had no where else to go. The last time I saw this kitten before she came to be inside my house was Thursday night 7/14. It rained hard all that night and into the next day and the heat wave temperatures dropped into the low 70′s. The next day my neighbors wife brought me a half dead and unconscious little ball of soggy fuz that her sons had found on a high spot of ground near a stump in front of their house. Half drowned and cold to the touch, almost Icy. She said she tried to revive the kitten with warm air from a blow dryer but he was still cold and wouldn’t wake up. I was sure this was a lost cause but what can you do but at least try – right?
‘Panda-Mittens’ was wrapped in warm towel after warm towel from the dryer and held with her head slightly lower than her torso while being massaged enough to drain the fluid from her lungs. Once fully warmed and dried out she was hydrated with a little stream of water from a syringe and then warmed and massaged still more. She eventually stopped gurgling and struggling to breath sort of came to a bit but was so whipped from the stress that she just slept for about 12 more hours. The following morning she began drinking water in large quantities (weird how almost drowning dehydrated her?). By Sunday she was eating small amounts and gaining an appetite but NO energy to move about still. She saw the vet on Monday (Felv/FIV/Heartworm negative and thanks to some Revolution she is now flea free) and by monday night was eating and exploring the house and meeting my other cats (not all of them happy about it).
‘Panda-Mittens’ is now listed on Petfinder.com HERE With more photo’s and soon I’ll add some video of this little angel as well. This little girl KNOWS she (as a friend put it) ‘won the kitty lotto’ and she is SO loving and affectionate and completely happy all the time! Check her out and if you can find a place in your heart PLEASE adopt her! Check back for more as I will be adding them one by one over the next few weeks.
